DESCRIPTION:When\n\nSession one: 17 August 2021\, 11:30 am-1:00 pm\nSession two: 19 August 2021\, 11:30 am-1:00 pm\nSession three: 24 August 2021\, 11:30 am-1:00 pm\n\nAbout\nCo-operatives are a widely used business structure in Australia\, particularly in agriculture and financial services. Despite this\, there is a gap in the understanding of the co-operative business model\, particularly in areas relating to financial reporting\, capital raising and tax. \nThe Co-operative Financials and Governance for Accountants and Lawyers Program is the first course of its kind\, designed to equip accounting and legal practitioners with the relevant knowledge to be able to advise clients on setting up and running effective co-operative businesses. \nYou will gain insights into financial reporting for co-operatives\, co-operative capital raising instruments\, and learn more about the legislation and tax settings governing co-operatives. \nThe program is being run in partnership with the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM) and Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ) as a 4.5 CPD course delivered through three lunchtime Zoom sessions. \nEach 1.5 hour session will feature short presentations\, facilitated discussions and time for Q&A.
