DESCRIPTION:Mutual Mindset: An Introduction to Co-operatives and Mutuals\nDo you have new employees unfamiliar with co-operative and mutual structures and their purpose? Or do you have directors and executives looking to deepen their knowledge of the sector? This is a 2-hour online program designed to provide a general introduction to the co-ops and mutual industry in Australia and globally. \nThis course is suitable for anyone new to co-operatives and mutuals and those looking for a refresher and information on the live sector. It can be tailored to your existing induction training program\, or your employees can take one of our online classes throughout the year. \nIt is facilitated by well-known co-operative development expert Antony McMullen and includes live interaction and two guest speakers. \nAbout this course\nThe key objective is to educate and inspire people working in the sector to understand more about the unique role and contribution of co-operatives and mutuals to help them in their role in their co-operative or mutual\, whether frontline staff\, management or directors. Her leadership expertise resides in long-term strategic planning\, building capacity in teams and sustaining and expanding growth in organisations. \nShe has coached individuals and teams\, and facilitated workshops for aspiring leaders with an emphasis on building positive environments which sustain and empower. She understands the interdependence between schools and their communities and how high levels of trust enable productivity. Her governance experience includes school councils and executive roles with VASSP (Victorian Association of State Secondary Principals). She led the Victorian chapter of Principals Australia for three years. Bernie joined the Board as Intern in 2010\, was elected by the Members in 2011\, and was appointed Chair of the Board in 2015. \nBernie is also a Director of Youthrive\, a rural foundation which provides support and opportunities for young people to build agency and capability. \n  \n\n \nBasil Lenzo\, Chair\, Geraldton Fishermen’s Co-operative\nBasil Lenzo is a third-generation fisherman based in Fremantle and has been a skipper\, owner and investor in the industry for over 40 years. He became a shareholder in 2004 and a member of the board in 2007.
