Paddock to plate food revolution

01 October 2013

Manchester Veg People (MVP)  is part of a new wave of UK food co-op businesses in Britain using crowdfunding to raise the capital it needs as this article in The Guardian outlines. The multi-stakeholder structure of co-operatives has been essential to this food revolution, helping to overcome the usual conflict between producers and consumers.

One of the founders of MVP and the Kindling Trust, Chris Walsh, will be in Australia in November to talk about the UK food co-op revolution. BCCM will be co-hosting some events. If you are interested in coming to hear Chris at one of the planned talks please email BCCM to be on the alert list. Chris Walsh is in Australia as a guest of The Open Food Foundation.
