Co-operative Research Group to host seminar

02 September 2015

On Friday, the University of Sydney’s Co-operatives Research Group will hold a seminar in the New Law Seminar Room 115, Eastern Avenue, The University of Sydney from 1-2 pm.

The Co-operatives Research Group provides a forum for research into and teaching about all forms of mutual organisations, including; consumer, social, worker, finance, producer co-operatives and other membership based democratic organisations. The group aims to shape and inform public policy debate on the co-operative sector and the contribution it makes and has the potential to make to social and economic development. It is the goal of the group to become the focal point for all co-operative research being undertaken in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

Guest speaker will be Shaun Larkin, Managing Director of HCF (a BCCM member), who will provide an overview of HCF.  HCF is one of Australia’s largest combined health and life insurance organisations. Mr Larkin leads the organisation with health care responsibilities for more than 1.5 million Australians with revenues in excess of $2 billion dollars and over 1,000 staff.
