Almost 70 community projects across Sydney, the Illawarra, the South Coast, ACT and the Southern Highlands have received a welcome funding boost, totalling $600,000, in 2018 from IMB Bank’s community foundations.

A major overhaul of NSW Marine Rescue communications capability; swimming lessons for children; feeding the homeless of Wollongong; solar-powered bathroom facilities at a sporting complex; a social education and behavioural improvement program to educate young boys and medical equipment for a hospital ICU unit are among 50 projects funded by the IMB Bank Community Foundation.

The IMB Bank Shire Community Foundation funded 16 projects including flexible furniture for students with learning difficulties; water safety, canoeing and basic sailing courses; a community band; and a honey extraction room for bee-keepers.

Together, IMB Bank’s community foundations have provided $9.3m in funding to almost 680 projects. As one of the first banks in the region to establish a community foundation, IMB Bank’s financial assistance has now benefited thousands of people, not only in local areas, but across NSW and the ACT.
