The BCCM is proud to be a member of the following professional associations and industry peak bodies, representing the co-operative and mutual movement.
The International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) is the voice of the co-operative movement worldwide.
It was established in 1895 to promote the co-operative model. Today co-operative members represent at least 12 per cent of humanity.
As businesses driven by values and not by the remuneration of capital, the 3 million co-operatives on earth act together to build a better world.
As a member of the ICA, the BCCM represents the Australian movement in discussions of global and regional strategy for the co-operative movement and stewardship of the co-operative principles.
International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF) is a global industry association for values-led insurers from across the globe to come together to strengthen their organisations within a non-competitive environment.
ICMIF membership provides the BCCM access to a wealth of exclusive information and business knowledge to support its mutual insurance and risk protection members.
Co-operative Housing International (CHI) is one of the eight sectoral organisations of the ICA. CHI promotes cooperative housing as an economic and social solution to the problem of providing shelter.
The European Association of Co-operative Banks (EACB) represents, promotes and defends the common interests of its member institutions and of cooperative banks, with regard to banking as well as to co-operative legislation.
Founded in 1970, today the EACB is a leading professional lobbying association in the European banking industry. Co-operative banks play a major role in the financial and economic system. Their resilience during the crisis made co-operative banks a key driving force in the economic recovery.
Sectorial Organization of the International Cooperative Alliance for Industry and Services (CICOPA) is a sector organisation of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) since 1947 and has three regional organisations: CECOP (CICOPA Europe), CICOPA Américas, and CICOPA Asia-Pacific. CICOPA promotes and represents workers’, social and producers’ cooperatives at the world level.
Employee Ownership Australia (EOA) is an independent not for profit, member-based organisation. EOA represents its members in advocating for employee ownership in Australia.
As a member of EOA, the BCCM supports the development, progression and growth of the employee ownership community in Australia.
