BCCM CEO Melina Morrison spoke to Andrew Taylor from the Sydney Morning Herald for this article, which explores the policy barriers for co-operative housing to play a larger role in addressing housing affordability in NSW.

Melina Morrison said a housing co-op sits between renting and ownership: “Residents have the affordability of renting and the security and agency of owning.”

“Unlike subsidies for market housing which assist house prices to grow, co-op housing, which is run at-cost, helps to stablise prices,” she said.
