Breathing new life into Gnowangerup: A co-op led transformation

08 December 2025

In Gnowangerup, a bold community vision is becoming reality as local co-operative GNP 360 leads the transformation of the town’s historic hotel into a new accommodation and family precinct. With early support from CBH Group – nearly $25,000 provided through the BCCM Bunya Fund, GNP 360 developed a compelling business plan that unlocked more than $400,000 in funding to kickstart stage one of the redevelopment. The project is set to deliver a much-needed social hub, reducing isolation, strengthening community pride and creating a welcoming space where locals and visitors can connect.

Beyond its social impact, the revitalised hotel will help drive local economic growth by creating jobs and boosting tourism, establishing a self-sustaining asset owned and shaped by the community. The initiative highlights the power of the co-operative model in regional development, with CBH proudly supporting co-ops like GNP 360 to retain essential services and build stronger, more resilient grain-growing communities.
