Equality is at the core of the co-operative sector

With inequality increasing globally, the International Co-operative Alliance has announced that equality is the theme for this year’s International Day of Co-operatives on 4 July.

Co-operatives help to reduce inequality by empowering people and by offering them a dignified and sustainable way to make a living and the sectors flat hierarchy encourages a culture of teamwork, where talent is rewarded rather than competitiveness. Watch this space to see how the BCCM plans to celebrate International Day of Co-operatives for 2015!
