Mutuals, co-ops bounce back from pandemic woes and lows

Throughout the pandemic, there’s been a lot of focus on how big companies have navigated the immense challenges – most of them focused on making big profits and keeping shareholders happy. But behind the scenes, the lower profile sector of cooperatives and mutuals have played a big role in ensuring the wheels of the economy kept turning during lockdowns and border restrictions that took small operators to the brink. ABC’s Peter Ryan speaks with Melina Morrison, CEO of the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals.
