National grain harvest on track

04 December 2013

The national grain harvest is on track to largely finish before Christmas.

BCCM member, CBH Group, is on target to receive its third largest grain intake on record. Already, more than 10.6 million tonnes of grain have been delivered to the bulk handler this year.A new record was set Wednesday last week when nearly 510,000 tonnes was received by CBH across its network in a single day.

CBH operations general manager David Capper said it was “absolutely unheard of” for the bulk handler to receive 10 million tonnes by the end of November.
