NSW Parliamentary Friends of Co-operatives and Mutuals: The role and contribution of housing co-operatives in NSW

With access to affordable housing such a pressing issue for the people of New South Wales, the NSW Parliamentary Friends of Co-operatives and Mutuals meeting on Wednesday, 19 March, focused on the role and contribution of housing co-operatives in NSW. Representatives from across the co-operative and mutual sectors in NSW were in attendance to demonstrate the strength and reach of the co-operative and mutual movement in the State.

The BCCM thanks NSW Parliamentary Friends of Co-operatives and Mutuals Co-Chairs, Gurmesh Singh MP, Clayton Barr MP and Jenny Leong MP, as well as Common Equity NSW CEO Nick Sabel, who spoke about rental co-op housing and the NSW sector and CENSW policy asks and Prof Louise Crabtree-Hayes and A/Professor Neil Perry, Western Sydney University, who provided attendees with an exclusive pre-launch overview and findings of the Value of Co-op Housing research.
