2023 BCCM Director Remuneration Survey Report

14 July 2023

The state of remuneration for directors at Australian co-operative and mutual enterprises received its first comprehensive analysis in the BCCM’s inaugural Director Remuneration Survey 2023, released this month.

“Following dramatic shifts in the workplace dynamic over the past three years, it is essential that the boards of co-operative and mutual enterprises have the right tools to fulfil their core goal as ethical businesses operating in a complex commercial environment while meeting the challenges of a post-Covid labour market,” said BCCM CEO Melina Morrison.

She added, “We support the needs of our members, from the frontline to the board table. By allowing our members’ boards to benchmark director remuneration, we increase their capacity to attract and retain the highest-level staff while delivering on their core purpose and providing ongoing member value.”

The remuneration survey follows the launch of other first-of-their-kind studies, including the sector’s climate action policy and a strategy for supporting sustainability and ESG strategies. The survey expands the toolkit BCCM has designed for its members to support the Australian economy, improve business practices, and act in the interests of the communities in which they operate.
