Capricorn CEO Greg Wall elected to International Co-Operative Alliance Board

28 November 2017

The Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM) congratulates Capricorn Group CEO and BCCM board member Greg Wall on his re-election to serve another 4-year term on the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) board.

“We are delighted to see Greg’s experience and depth of knowledge about the co-op and mutual sector recognised on the international stage,” said BCCM CEO Melina Morrison. “The BCCM congratulates him on this testament to his leadership.”

Greg was Chairman of the Australian International Year of Co-operatives Secretariat and led the formation of the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals as founding Chairman and now a Director.

Greg was the first Australian to achieve the honour of being elected to the ICA Board in 2013 and was delighted to be re-elected at the ICA’s annual global conference and general assembly held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in November 2017.

“I am proud of the contribution I have made to the ICA Board and the co-operative movement in general over the last 4 years. The work done on progressing the UN sustainable goals during this time shows the true power of co-operatives and reinforces the vision of making co-operatives the number one choice for people by 2020,” said Greg.

“The Australian Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals has achieved great success, including receiving recent recognition from the Australian Government of the importance of co-operatives as a business model that represents the required long-termism and social responsibility that is needed today,” said Greg.

Capricorn provides equipment finance, travel services, business protection and preferred suppliers to its 18,000 co-operative members from the automotive industry. With an annual turnover of $1.69 billion, it is ranked among the top four co-operatives in Australia’s latest National Mutual Economy Report.
