Member event for NSW members – time to be confirmed
NSW-based members of the BCCM are cordially invited to attend this meeting of the NSW Parliamentary Friends of Co-operatives and Mutuals to meet with Parliamentarians.
With access to affordable housing such a pressing issue for the people of New South Wales, this meeting will focus on the role and contribution of housing co-operatives in NSW. We will have representatives from across the co-operative and mutual sectors in NSW in attendance to demonstrate the strength and reach of the co-operative and mutual movement in the State.

The Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM) advocated for the first-ever Parliamentary Friends Group for Co-ops and Mutuals in the New South Wales Parliament since our formation in 2013. The Group was inaugurated on 9 June 2022 at a meeting attended by BCCM CEO, Melina Morrison.
The Group was established to represent the 750 NSW-based co-ops and mutuals in the 57th Parliament of NSW. It provides a forum for members of Parliament to meet and interact with mutual and co-operative businesses on matters relating to levelling the playing field for our sector. The Group’s co-chairs are Clayton Barr MP, Gurmesh Singh MP and Jenny Leong MP.
