We are recruiting for two dynamic communications focused roles

About the BCCM:

Do you have a passion for purpose-centred business, social enterprise, or non-profits? The BCCM is the peak body for Australia’s diverse and exciting member-owned business sector. Encompassing around 2,000 businesses ranging from some of the country’s most trusted brand names in financial services, health insurance, motoring, retail, agriculture, care sectors and housing, to hundreds of small and medium sized community owned organisations, Australia’s co-operatives and mutuals have a staggering eight in every 10 Australians as members.

Co-ops and mutuals are the quiet achievers of the Australian economy ensuring people can access fair prices, high quality goods and services through ethical business purpose and democratic, member governance. The BCCM, formed in 2013, works to advance the interests of its 100 members and the wider co-op and mutual sector. Our key strategies are greater influence through education and advocacy and meaningful collaboration through the network of members and stakeholders.

We are recruiting for candidates to fill two dynamic communications roles. You will help the BCCM raise awareness of co-operatives and mutuals and connect our members through the latest communications strategies.

Senior Communications Officer

Do you have a stellar background in corporate communications, knowledge of business advocacy and experience in membership organisations?

We are seeking a self-starter and exemplary oral and written communicator, with a passion for sustainable, purpose driven business, to assist our small team with external and internal communications activities at the Council. You must be experienced working in a very small, dynamic team, to tight timelines and be comfortable with an ‘all roles’ approach to getting the job done. The ability to exercise self-initiative and to be solutions driven is essential as we work as a team without ‘managers’. If you are creative and comfortable with working to a fast pace in a supportive, good humoured team environment, you will fit in. No day is without its challenges, but the reward is having the agency to put your ideas forward.

If you seek an interview, please send your CV and an example of your compelling writing to carmel.butler@bccm.coop. You can also send a few examples of other communications material you have created like video, websites, social media, and documents.

Attractive remuneration commensurate with your experience is offered. We have flexible WFH arrangements. The head office is in Sydney, but our colleagues are located across Australia. The role is offered as a full-time position however a nine-day fortnight is negotiable.

Digital Communications Officer

Do you have a great background in using the power of digital communications to sell an idea or amplify a message? Are you constantly learning about the latest trends in online communications?

We are seeking an experienced digital communications officer to assist our team to create and manage our digital communications assets. You will have experience developing and/or managing websites, social media accounts, and electronic communications including newsletters and social media posts. We are looking for a creative, self-starter who can constantly innovate and improve the way we communicate digitally. You will be adept at using the latest programs to create visually dynamic material like videos and posts for our digital platforms, websites and social media channels. You must be an excellent communicator and experienced writing content and designing for the web and social media.

If you seek an interview, please send your CV and several examples of your work to carmel.butler@bccm.coop.
