This year’s International Day of Cooperatives (#CoopsDay) on Saturday, 5 July 2025, takes on special significance as it coincides with the United Nations’ International Year of Cooperatives (#IYC2025) – a global celebration of the impact and potential of co-operatives and mutuals.

We’re inviting Australian co-ops and mutuals to take part in #CoopsDay and mark the International Year of Cooperatives (#IYC2025) by sharing bold ideas and aspirations for our sector’s future.

Ask your Chair, CEO or co-op leaders to answer:

“This is the International Year of Cooperatives. How do you hope and expect the co-op and mutual movement will make its mark in Australia over the next 12 months?”

Share their responses on social media in the lead-up to #CoopsDay using #BCCMIcons, #CoopsDay and #IYC2025.

Instructions for using our Canva reel template

To create your own version of the BCCM’s CoopsDay reel:

1. Click our Canva template link to open the Canva template in preview mode.
2. Select ‘View template’, log in to your Canva account, then click ‘Open in Editor’ to create an editable copy.
3. On Page 1, add your co-op or mutual’s name in the top left corner (or replace the text with your logo). Swap out the background image for one of your own.
4. Replace the background images on Pages 2, 9, and 10 with relevant images from your co-op or mutual.
5. On Page 3, insert a photo of your representative, and update the name, title, and organisation.
6. Customise Pages 4–8 with a quote from your representative. Duplicate or delete pages as needed to suit your quote length.
7. Review and adjust all text, logos, and images to align with your branding.
8. Download your finished reel and share it on your organisation’s social media channels.
