BCCM anniversary list: 2024 member anniversaries

22 October 2024

Introducing the inaugural BCCM anniversary list, honouring significant milestone birthdays of our members, proudly presented in 2024 by HIF and Capricorn.

Endurance, resilience, and sustainability are the hallmarks of successful co-operatives and mutuals. Formed to benefit their members and communities, they put the long-term needs of those they serve at the centre of everything they do.

The BCCM is proud to celebrate the achievements of these leading co-operatives and mutuals in 2024.

HIF

In 2024, Health Insurance Fund of Australia (HIF) marks 70 years of caring for members.

It was established in Western Australia in 1954 to support government employees.

As a non-profit, HIF reinvests surpluses to enhance member benefits, offering lower premiums and innovative services. Inclusivity is central to HIF’s mission, exemplified by being the first Australian insurer to provide a third gender option on insurance contracts.

Equally forward-thinking in health policy, HIF has championed important reforms to vaping regulations and innovative approaches in treating depression; and in 2022, HIF was named Green Health Insurer of the Year for its commitment to sustainability efforts.

For always giving back, the BCCM congratulates HIF on 70 years of unwavering commitment to members and lasting contributions to the Australian community.

Capricorn Society

In 2024, Capricorn Society celebrates 50 years of success. Founded in 1974 by a small group of Western Australian service station owners, it now has over 30,000 members and 2,000 preferred suppliers.

From the outback to the city and communities in between, Capricorn empowers its automotive members through collective buying power and access to finance, travel services, and business protection. Innovation is key, with a leading rewards program and tools to prepare for the future of mobility.

From its humble beginnings, Capricorn has developed into a multi-billion dollar purchasing group, supporting thousands of automotive businesses across Australia and New Zealand.

The BCCM congratulates Capricorn Society on its 50 years of service and commitment to its purpose of improving the lives of Members by supporting them to build stronger businesses.
