Join NENA for a fantastic Friday evening of drinks, nibblies and discussions about co-operatives and unions today.

Kicking off New Economy Network Australia Co-operatives Week will be a relaxed discussion with some great guests on the potential for co-operatives and trade unions to build new democratic, solidarity-based, social enterprises.

In a time of transformation, with a growing need for radical reform, can cooperative and labour movements play a critical role in building a new economy to deliver social and environmental outcomes?

What lessons can we draw from the history of trade unions and cooperatives for making social change today? What role does solidarity and social enterprise play in the new economy movement?

Join NENA at the UCS’s Brisbane Workers Community Centre for a facilitated panel discussion and informal Q&A.

GUEST SPEAKERS:

  • Antony McMullen, Co-operative Bonds / BCCM in discussion with:
  • Richard Warner, Nundah Community Enterprises Co-op
  • Rose Brown, Tenants Union worker and previous ASU delegate.

CATERING IS PROVIDED:

** BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL – space is limited and food will be provided
** Finger food and soft drinks will be available (BYO alcoholic drinks) – supported by Nundah Community Enterprises Co-operative
