Federal Minister for Housing and Federal Treasurer meet with Lakewood Co-op Members

03 February 2025

Federal Housing Minister, Clare O’Neil, and federal Treasurer, Jim Chalmers, visited the rental co-op housing development at Lakewood of BCCM member, CEHL, last week.

With housing affordability a top concern for many Australians, it was great to see the Housing Minister and Treasurer engage with the co-op housing model. Affordable, secure and empowering for members.

They spent almost two hours at Lakewood Co-op, talking to the residents and touring the 80-unit site to learn more about this empowering “build to rent” model.
