Community transport co-operative looks for potential members

20 November 2015

Three community transport groups in Greater Western Sydney, Great Community Transport (GCT), Bankstown Canterbury Community Transport (BBCT) and Community Wheels (CWCT) have come together to establish as a new co-operative.

With an ever changing environment and changing expectations from consumers, the groups saw the need for change and see the co-operative model as the best way to respond proactively to the changes ahead, whilst enabling them to remain relevant in delivering services to their local communities.

Working with the BCCM and EY since February 2015, the groups are in the final stages of forming as a new member-owned co-operative. The project is also being supported by Transport for NSW.

Growing an active membership is vital for the co-operative to prosper and grow into the future.

The groups are therefore interested in hearing from individuals, other community transport organisations and other community organisations operating in the Commonwealth Home Support Program or NDIS who are interested in learning more about what they are doing and may want to register an interest in joining the new co-operative in the future.

To register your interest, please email Dennis Hayward c/o [email protected].
