Employee Ownership CEO UK on restructuring the economy

11 December 2013

Iain Hasdell, CEO of the Employee Ownership Association UK, has focused his December blog on expanding economic diversity and restructuring the economy through employee ownership.

“It is this role in the re-structuring of our economy that is absolutely critical here. If we are to achieve a modern, highly competitive economy with a long term outlook, we need more employee ownership in the UK because of the higher productivity, greater levels of innovation and outstanding financial performance it delivers. We need more employee ownership because employee owners think and act for the long term and because employee ownership retains sustainable jobs, skills and wealth in local communities.”

“We need more employee ownership because of the way it distributes the rewards of success more equitably. And we need more employee ownership in our public services because when it is present it always achieves better services and improved value for money for the funders of those services.”
