Webinar: Co-operative and Mutual Financial Reporting FAQs

26 February 2019 10:30 am - 11:30 am

  • This event has passed.

Who should participate? Anyone interested in Co-operative and Mutual Enterprise (CME) financial reporting is invited to sign up for the free webinar, whether from CMEs, service providers or other.

How to participate? Find out more and register online.

What will be covered? The AASB published Staff Commentary and Frequently Asked Questions for co-operatives and mutual enterprises (CMEs) in July 2018, available on the AASB website under Hot Topics. These were prepared in conjunction with the Business Council for Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM).

The publication was developed as part of the AASB’s response to the recommendations of the 2016 Senate Enquiry into CMEs, which found there needed to be increased awareness of the model among business professionals. The AASB staff will present a webinar addressing significant aspects of the Commentary and FAQs relating to financial reporting, such as:

  • related party disclosures
  • income of not-for-profit entities
  • classification of member shares

Current projects of the AASB particularly relevant to CMEs will also be covered, including:

  • the financial reporting framework / conceptual framework project
  • defining not-for-profit entities

Questions may be submitted online during the webinar, to be addressed at the presenters’ discretion!
