How friendly societies can work to our mutual benefit

More than a century ago people found a way to reknit society around the challenges of urbanisation posed by the first Industrial Revolution. This same model that worked in the 19th century can work in 2018 as we stare down the barrel of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Mutuals, friendly societies and co-operatives gave people a way to pool resources to help themselves and each other as a counter to the growing power of new and old wealth and companies owned by shareholders.
