Co-op Cider saves pear trees

Fruit growers in northern Victoria hope a new pear cider will stop them from having to pull up some of their trees.
The cider has just been developed by the Goulburn Valley Food Co-op using tonnes of pears about to go to waste.
Kyabram fruit grower Dario Pulsoni was eyeing the bulldozer after his supply contract for the local SPC Ardmona cannery was drastically cut back last year.
“It was starting to look like we were going to start having to pull some blocks out.”
