Sydney University leads on mutuals

20 February 2015

BCCM advocacy in the tertiary education sector is seeing Australia’s top universities recognising the importance of the co-operative and mutual sector in their degree plans, with courses on co-operatives and mutuals on offer and more in development.

The School of Business at the University of Sydney is offering a new six credit point unit on Co-operatives and Mutuals (WORK6036) in its Master of Commerce program on an intensive weekend basis for the second semester. This postgraduate unit introduces students to the unique challenges involved in the management of co-operatives and mutuals and equips them with skills and knowledge necessary to take these value-driven organisations to the digital future of tomorrow. The unit is also available on a non-degree basis to individuals who would like to obtain an overview on co-operatives and mutuals.
