This is a 2-hour online program designed to provide a general introduction to the co-ops and mutual industry in Australia and globally.
This course is suitable for anyone new to co-operatives and mutuals and those looking for a refresher and information on the live sector. It can be tailored to your existing induction training program, or your employees can take one of our online classes throughout the year.

The key objective is to educate and inspire people working in the sector to understand more about the unique role and contribution of co-operatives and mutuals to help them in their role in their co-operative or mutual, whether frontline staff, management or directors. It will help build a meaningful connection between the employee and the wider co-operative and mutual sector, as well as strengthen the relationship with their individual employer.

Kerrie is a senior leadership professional who has spent over 20 years in banking, 15 of those in the customer-owned banking sector working across communications, corporate affairs, community, brand, and marketing.
With experience also in the media, hospitality and tourism sectors, Kerrie reconnected with her passion for customer-owned banking 12 years ago when she joined P&N Group (through WA’s P&N Bank). Kerrie has a wealth of knowledge of the industry, having seen first-hand the significant and rapid changes the banking sector has experienced, particularly in the areas of culture, payments, digital transformation and compliance.
Kerrie’s areas of expertise include stakeholder engagement and advocacy, strategic, corporate and crisis communication and media management. Kerrie embraces professional and personal development opportunities and is particularly passionate about leadership and supporting emerging leaders, actively participating in P&N Group’s mentorship program. She recently added leadership of the Enterprise Change Management function to her remit.
Zane Alcorn is a qualified carpenter who also has a bachelor degree in architectural science and a certificate IV in building and construction.
Zane has been involved in grassroots climate and energy campaigns as well as refugee, anti fascist and anti war campaigns since the mid 2000s and has been a rank and file member of the CFMEU since 2015.
Zane also volunteers with community radio station 3CR in Melbourne as part of the green left radio team, and has written for green left and reneweconomy. Zane is a founding member of Earthworker Construction Cooperative.
