Employee Ownership Index launched by Employee Ownership Australia

22 December 2016

Employee Ownership Australia and New Zealand (EOA) has launched a new Employee Ownership Index.

Angela Perry, head of EOA, explained in an interview that the index will allow EOA to compare the performance of employee owned enterprises with their peers.

The index demonstrates a positive connection between employee ownership and productivity, diversity and sustainability.

ASX200 companies with employee ownership had 14% higher share performance over five years.

The index covers enterprises with broad-based employee ownership schemes and 30% participation in employee ownership.

While similar indices have been developed overseas it is the first of its kind for Australia.
