The BCCM has made a submission to Australian Government’s Productivity Commission in response to its inquiry into Childcare and Early Childhood Learning.
The BCCM submission calls on the inquiry to consider the important role that co-operatives play in childcare service delivery and how the co-operative model can contribute towards the resolution of the issues of affordability and availability in childcare services.
The key recommendation of the submission is that access to high quality childcare and early childhood learning facilities must be available to all communities in a sustainable manner and that community engagement and ownership through co-operatives should be the subject of more thorough and focussed inquiry.
